In 1775 the conflict had been underway between the existing 13 British Colonies in North America and their homeland, Great Britain. In the first part of the 1700’s the population in the colonies was reported to be roughly 250,000 people. From the year 1770, this number had escalated to 2.5 million. This increase in population included the inhabitants shifting into a higher percentage of different immigrants including groups from Ireland, Scotland, and Germany who tended to settle in their teams along the field of the Atlantic shores. This growth has been the key to launching the colonies into a successful bid to get his or her liberty.
Eight decades of fighting this American War for independence, the Colonies were still victorious. Within four decades there was a government established. These newly formed United States were under a republican government where the power resided with the people.
The War had troops that presented themselves in some cases like a rag-tag military
With uniforms at a kaleidoscope of colors and some uniforms set together like grandma’s quilt. Other soldiers came from wealthy backgrounds and had the best of everything. There was no consistency, which transported throughout most of the struggle. Regardless of the Patriots choosing browns as the official uniform color, the various groups of countries still did their own thing.
